News Making the Blog
Well - its about time to put it out here on the blog - since we've started telling people this week and our families have known for about a month or so. Steven and I are expecting our first little stermain in mid-October! I'm just about through with the first trimester and we heard the heartbeat for the first time on Monday at my second appointment. Its a little overwhelming, but exciting at the same time. Steven's more excited, I'm trying to plan everything out. Its funny to write updates to the blog on what is happening in CT when you really can't say anything about the biggest thing! I took a test on Valentine's Day when I was home in the snow and it was positive. My first appointment was not until Feb 26th and we kept it a secret until then. The doctor didn't really do a test, but did send me for bloodwork at that time to determine my exact level of preganacy (its called something else but I just can't remember it right now). So - that is it from here! I'm sure as we go along there will be more to share...

American Idol update
So I've got Steven hooked on American Idol again. Last night (not feeling well) I made sure to wake up for the 8 PM start. He was in on the computer and missed the first three singers. I enjoyed last night for the most part. We both definitely want the Indian kid to go! With the strange hair, wierd dances - he's just not good! Both of us love Melinda - she was awesome again last night - never bad. Results tonight! Can't wait!

Weekend Update
So after the snow on Friday - about a foot of it! We didn't do too much. Steven convinced me to go out with him Friday afternoon while he plowed the parking lot at work. Never again will I agree to do that with him! Four hours later we got home about 8 PM and hadn't eaten dinner yet. Not a happy camper. Then when the icy sleet started and we hadn't finished, I finally said let me out and I'll shovel the stairs at the club to make it go faster. Then Sat I was stuck inside most of the day because it was a heavy snow and Stermain had already gone to work for 6 am with the plow and told me not to shovel. He finally got home after 2 and we were plowed at 4 - oh well! Yesterday we went to see the movie 300 - well - Steven wanted to see it - I got brought along for the ride (again). If you like violence and gore - go for it! So last night I got my pick of the tv shows and watched Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason on TBS. Steven couldn't complain... not after my weekend!

March Nor'Easter
So they are forcasting a Nor'Easter for tomorrow - anywhere from 6-16 inches - they just don't know. I hope it is mainly rain, but even that can be messy. Our backyard is waterlogged from a few weeks ago. Steven is having some painters come to give us quotes on doing the exterior of the house this coming fall. I hope they still come out! We don't have much planned for St. Patrick's Day. Maybe I will go get a corned beef and cabbage meal somewhere or if we are lucky try to make it at home. But I never liked corned beef and cabbage... I do like Guinness though... none of that happening on Sat though.

New Phones
So on Saturday our Verizon accounts were up for a $100 credit towards new phones. Since mine had taken to not working with my hands free headset, we decided to go in to get new ones. Well the phones were buy one get one free, so we just had to pay for the hands free headsets. Those sales people try to get you into the largest price you'll pay. Luckily we caught what she was doing and said we just need the headsets, not the car charger (I never used our old one) and neither of us needs a case for the cell phone. Then they try to get you to do mobile web and text messaging - um - no thanks - we just want to use our phones to make phone calls (GASP!). Well - the wait wasn't as long as we thought it would be - but we were there about an hour. Pretty good for late on Saturday afternoon and now we've been trying to figure out the bluetooth hands free headsets - haven't quite gotten that under control yet so we apologize if we hang up on anyone!

Can we say cold?
The theromostat only said 9 degrees when I left for work at 8:45 this morning. Boy was it cold - and windy. Last night around 5 in the morning I thought I heard glass shattering. I made Steven get up and go look around to see what happened. He couldn't find anything. This morning I realized that these glass bottles he had on the porch for months had been blown over and shattered - no big loss but I know he liked the fact they looked old and he had dug them up from out in the yard. At least it wasn't a window!

Nice weekend - not long enough
I really can't remember much of what we did this weekend. I played tennis Saturday morning while Steven was working and then stayed and worked out for a little bit. Then I think I slept most of the afternoon away after we went on a mystery ride. The mystery ride turned out a little soggy when it started to rain. But we found this place doing a maple sugaring demonstration. It was neat - but probably would have been better in non rainy weather. Sunday we cleaned and did stuff around the house in the morning - Steven took the raditor apart and was going to sand blast it clean but his sand was still too wet to work in the machine. We went for Indian buffet with our friend Julia and our neighbor Peter and his son Jacob. It was a really good buffet. I got more seeds to grow my plants this year from scratch. Hopefully I'll have success! Last night there were some good shows on the History Channel and Discovery - first a two hour thing on the Black Plague and then the three hour show on the Tomb of Jesus. Interesting. I fell asleep by 10 though and missed the last two hours on the tomb... I think Steven did as well!
