Happy Halloween

Ian has multiple costumes. he was Bob the Builder for a party yesterday and today at the library he wanted to wear the tiger costume which I wore when I was two. Thanks Grammy for keeping that costume in the attic for 30+ years! After library the little girl who is the pink pig and the tiny pirate (Alexandra and Gabriel) came over for treats and some play time.

Stepping Stones Day

There is a children's museum in Norwalk called Stepping Stones. We had been wanting to go there and now they have a building exhibit and that is right up Ian (AKA Bob)'s alley. We had a good time. And even though we were home in time for lunch and a nap there was no nap today. This has not been a good week for naps. I hope its not a trend because even if Ian doesn't need a nap I NEED him to nap. We raked seven bags of leaves instead while Daddy painted the side door red.

My VT trip

Ian went with his Mommy and Daddy to VT for Daddy's cousin's wedding. On the way up we stopped for lunch and Ian had a photo shoot with some chairs and mountains. Then he got the dancing started at the wedding. He loved the wedding. Who wouldn't - dancing, candy, lots of people to talk with. He lasted until about 6:30 after a no nap day. Then this morning after breakfast with the St. Germains he went to a farm and corn maze. He loved meeting the animals and tried to have a deep discussion with a large cow who was only interested in eating hay. After spending some time in the corn maze it was time for the long ride home.

Newly painted house

The house painting project took all summer. But we are very happy with the result. The new screen doors are red to match the door but haven't been put back up yet. Steven painted the front door on Sunday and we still need to paint the side door - but this is a vast improvement from the yellow and black house we moved into from this post in 2006Our Life in CT: Sunday

Ian the Identifier

that is what Peter our neighbor calls Ian. The IMan can keep up a whole one-sided conversation with you about anything. He points out the obvious. This morning it was telling Dada that he was going bye bye. The other day he told Dada that he had no head meaning he had no hair. Poor Dada gets the brunt of the identifiying. The other day in the car I turned to Steven and said Ian had been talking non-stop for an hour. Ian stopped talking and LOOKED at me as if to tell me what I could do with it...

Other developments - Ian can count - at least when he's not thinking about it. We had some of his cards with Thomas and the other engines out and he counted to five. I think he was mostly repeating what I said but he does consistently count to two.

Zoo with my buddy Gabriel

We went to the zoo yesterday with Gabriel and his mom - same zoo as earlier this summer. This time Ian actually fed the goats, touched the pigs, and wanted to touch the big plaster cow. We are making progress. Of course the best part was sitting on statues of animals... oh well.
