Christmas Recap

We had a good Christmas here in CT again. Mass on Christmas Eve was good - Ian was a good boy. He just kept asking for songs. Then we had a family dinner before going to bed to await Santa's arrival. He didn't disappoint as you can see. Then we had a German dinner with the neighbors before doing funny presents. Ian didn't quite get it - but still loved laughing. And yes- those are the same christmas PJs as last year.

Mr. Ian Santa

Mr. Ian (aka Santa) posed tonight by the fireplace which will be where the donkey he's asked for for Christmas will be delivered. The funniest thing about his get up today is the paid sticker - there are more - I'm wearing them all over my forehead...

Snowy Day

Ian had a little fun in the snow this morning but had more fun working with the shovel like Bob the Builder. He kept telling Peter and I that "He could do it". We tried snow angels with him but he didn't quite get it. Then we came in for some cookie making for Santa. I've put Ian's aside because I'm not sure Santa wants Ian's sticky fingers and boogies on his cookies.

Meeting Ho Ho

Ian met Ho Ho at Stew Leonards on Sunday. After looking at the picture this Santa looks a little sketchy.

Rudolph

Ian's Christmas stuffed animals made an appearance tonight. He knows the whole Rudoloph the Red Nose Reindeer song and will sing it LOUDLY for you.

Artsy Guy

Ian started his arts and crafts class yesterday and really liked his art project - gluing tiny piece of paper to a bigger piece. As you can see he was very pround of it and posed while I was trying to make lunch. The only problem with this class is that it is 10:45 to 11:45 and we typically eat at 11:45 or noon so its a fast turn around to get home to eat and then nap.

Recovering from Thanksgiving

We forgot the camera - so no pictures from us from Thanksgiving. We are going to have to wait for Grammy and Grampy to send us pictures. Ian was the hit of the party at Auntie Colleen's and Uncle Ken's. We think he was a little scarrred from his Bob the builder experience on the 100 inch screen but he'll get over it and think Uncle Kenny's the coolest when he's older and watching movies from the Mailloux collection. He then tried out all of Lucas' toys and said that baby Kaleb was a baby while Ian was a toddle. Finally he had a quick visit from cousin Noah and was nice enough to let Uncle Greg play with his own matchbox cars in Grammy's basement aka Ian's playroom. He left Cookie the Horse there and asked today if Grammy is feeding him. Ian's gearing up for Christmas. He knows that Ho Ho (as he calls Santa) will come down the chimney. I'm waiting for the day we lite a fire and he asks what happens then. He just told us tonight that Ho Ho lives at Home Depot. That's not too far from the truth if you've seen the displays in there lately.

Just saying hi

Ian's been busy lately- he's hard to catch up with. He likes to pull his chair to my desk and fields phone calls. So if anyone wants to call him or Skype him he's waiting.

Apple picking

We made it to the last dayof pick your own at the orchard here in Bethel. After a slow start Ian broke out on his own. Not as easy as blueberry picking but he enjoyed it anyway.

Halloween highjinks

Ian has multiple costumes. he was Bob the Builder for a party yesterday and today at the library he wanted to wear the tiger costume which I wore when I was two. Thanks Grammy for keeping that costume in the attic for 30+ years! After library the little girl who is the pink pig and the tiny pirate (Alexandra and Gabriel) came over for treats and some play time.

Stepping Stones Day

There is a children's museum in Norwalk called Stepping Stones. We had been wanting to go there and now they have a building exhibit and that is right up Ian (AKA Bob)'s alley. We had a good time. And even though we were home in time for lunch and a nap there was no nap today. This has not been a good week for naps. I hope its not a trend because even if Ian doesn't need a nap I NEED him to nap. We raked seven bags of leaves instead while Daddy painted the side door red.
