Busy builder boy
Last night we took Ian for ice cream and then to the market to get some quick things. he insisted on wearing his hard hat. By the end of the night he was covered in "paid - thank you" stickers and decided to do a little digging in his backyard. He has a special pile of bricks and dirt he works in. Today his big boy bed was delivered. After I lost the first round with the side rail he is in it this afternoon for a nap with just a pillow between him and the floor. Maybe we don't need the rail? anyway - see if you can find him in this pile of "friends"

Ian's big week.
Last week Ian was able to meet his new cousin, Nathan. He had a great time meeting him. But, we think he enjoyed sleeping in a big boy bed even more! Here is the before pic and then the immediately after. It didn't take him long to realize he liked it. Then after a great nap Friday afternoon he treated me (and the whole neighborhood) to his vocal stylings. Finally, on Sunday, we had the Memorial Day parade which lines up on our street. Needless to say he was excited.

Ian's week in MA
Ian and I came up to MA on Monday morning since his auntie Colleen and Uncle Ken had their baby last Sunday - Nathan - and we wanted to visit. We've taken lots of pictures but of course they are on the camera and I don't have the cord to download them to the computer. Ian was very excited to meet Nathan. We went up on Monday with Grammy and then on Tuesday with Grampy. Ian lucked out and Grampy took him to dinner at the Airport Diner. He's been wearing the hat ever since. Here is a picture from on the way home Tues night - note the sunglasses even though its dark. I guess he wears sunglasses at night...
Other news - Ian slept in a big boy bed for the first time Tues night here. He had seriously outgrown the pack and play though at home he's still in the crib. So we got rails and he has slept two nights and one nap in the big boy bed. He did very well - he didn't fall out, didn't try to climb out except at naptime. Though he did wake up early both mornings, do a little cry, then roll back over. this morning i went in with him for a few minutes but then left him and he slept past seven.

Mother's Day 2010
So Ian and his daddy were very nice to me on Mother's day. They tried to get me a bag (backpack) which I said I wanted so I could be hands free when at the park with Ian. The bag got returned today. but they did hit the nail on the head with my new watch to time my runs. I've been working at doing a 5K which is coming up May 22nd. I did over three miles on Saturday. I need to do a few more of those types of runs in the next two weeks. We are deciding where to send ian for preschool. There is a four morning a week program in town which he got into, but I'm not sure if that would be too much for him. We had registered him for the two morning a week program at our church's school and I am leaning towards that. We need to decide this week since the check is due may 14th for the town program. Yesterday we went hiking with Ian and he went all the way up the short hilly hike we took. It might have been a quarter of a mile or so up the hill. He was very proud of himself.

Frog Frollic
Ian went with his friend Alexandra on Saturday to the Frog Frollic in nearby Redding. He had a great time and the two of them met up with some other friends too. Ian had to have a "tatoo" like Alexandra and they both ended up with ladybugs on their cheeks. Alexandra is two months older than Ian but TALL.
