Apparently Ian doesn't like the fact that he is (was) wearing a long sleeved shirt this morning...

One year stats
Keep in mind Ian is ten months adjusted when you hear this - he's 27 inches long and 15 pounds 7 ounces. Yes - still under 20 pounds by a long shot! I am still not complaining since I have to carry him and if he was bigger I'm sure my back would hurt more. He did so well with his two shots and is now down for a nap which might last a while.

The Big One!
So the I-Man is the big One. Yup- we've made it a year. Officially he's been home with us for 11 months - so we haven't hit the year living at home yet. Then we will have the celebration of his adjusted year. He's going to be partying for the next two months! Let's see - things that Ian is doing at a year old. He's walking like crazy behind anything he can push. He also pulls up on anything and everything (as evidenced by the little finger prints all over Grammy's tables this weekend). His favorite books are Brown Bear and Guess How Much I Love You. He also will sit still for the color book or the turkey book. We still don't let him watch any TV so music is his outlet. He still likes Baby Beluga best of all but we've branched off recently to Dan Zanes music and the new Barenaked Ladies kids album called Snacktime. Naps were getting better before I left for Ohio - then I tried to get him on track in two days which didn't work - and then we were in NH for the weekend and the schedule was thrown out the window. On Friday he napped a total of 20 minutes in his stroller. Today was a bit better - he must have felt more at home because he did his usual two hour after waking nap while we were trying to pack and then he did his hour and a half afternoon nap in the car right at 1 PM. Ian LOVED the lake. He likes water so a huge bathtub was right up his alley. It was chilly to swim but so sunny. He didn't know quite what to do with the sand but he seemed to like it. He got to play with Auntie Colleen alot - and we swear tonight when we were looking at the pictures on her blog that he said something that resembled "Auntie Colleenie". But he liked Uncle Kenny even more than Colleenie. I mean LOVED. He climbed all over him as soon as he got to the beach on Saturday. He wouldn't let him go. Ian and his cousin Noah got to play together as much as a 12 month old and 6 month old can really do. Ian didn't really understand "gentle" and would have run Noah right over if we let him. Oh -- and we did a little Elmo cookie on his official birthday on Friday - I'll let the pictures tell that story until I can get the video up. Trust me - we didn't let him do that to the cake on Saturday! Oh- and favorite gifts -the tunnel from Grammy and Grampy and the tag on the bag that his gifts came in - not necessiarly in that order!

400th post
When I logged in today it told me I had posted 399 times - so this makes number 400. I was going to call it Photoshoot by the Castle... but instead its 400th post. Ian likes to play outside - ALOT! He has no fear of the grass and will go speeding across the lawn on his own with no fear. He is getting great at standing with his walking thing. And he loves his castle. Here he is yesterday waiting for Daddy to get home from work by the castle. This has become an afternoon ritual.

Weekend recap
It was a pretty quiet weekend. Mommy got her lobster for her birthday - we did it on Saturday night. Yesterday there was a rousing game of croquet with the neighbors - just like old times. Ian decided not to nap well so is sleeping well this morning. If we can only get him to sleep later than 5 AM life would be great! This week Mommy is getting ready to go to Ohio for work. Lots happening with work - getting organized is the biggest one. The work phone line was put in on Friday and now I need a phone for it.

My first swim
I visited Daddy at work today for a swim in their pool. I LOVED it. Actually loving it is an understatement for how much Ian liked the pool. Just wait until he sees the lake...

What a year!
Last year at this time I was making a really nice breakfast for myself for my birthday and didn't even think that the day would be any different. And here we sit - literally since Ian was trying out my new desk chair from Daddy this morning - a year later. This morning's breakfast consisted of baby oatmeal and some banana bread. Much different than my eggs, toast, strawberries and coffee that I got to sit and eat in peace while reading the paper! Now I have a two and a half foot tall friend handing me pieces of his playmat and its taken me twice as long to type this as it would have.

Car Seat questions
So we know that eventually our little guy will be out of his infant carrier.
Any suggestions on what to upgrade to next? For the moment we will only buy one seat - but maybe eventually two because Steven has the truck from work with the backseat. But for now we can get by with having one seat in my car.

Beautiful Sunday
Mommy and Daddy took Ian around their old stomping grounds in Redding. We went for a stroll in a park and Ian liked kicking his feet while daddy held him in the Bjorn. Then we went to a farmer's market in Georgetown and got bread, corn and clams for lunch - Daddy is cooking them now. Ian fell asleep in the car but woke up as soon as we got inside. Oh- and Ian had a seventh tooth pop through at some point - we found it today and he's probably getting another based on how he can turn to Mr. Cranky Pants at the drop of a hat.

First day working at home
And its already been a doozey. Ian was great and slept until 5:30 but at some point during breakfast he had the largest poop that he's had in a long time. I can deal with that - but insted of escaping up the back of the diaper this one came out the front. I had to stop for a minute - holding Ian straight out in front of me to think about what to do - go upstairs and change the baby first or straight into the tub? I went upstairs and then the I-man had a bath. He's now relaxing in his crib for the two hour after waking nap. Whew... and I'm still in my PJs.
