Fall Review

Needless to say the fall flew by and we've not posted regularly. So here is a quick recap in photos (and you'll notice Emmie is walking by this point - that happened at some point in October and like with all second children everywhere I can't remember the exact moment it happened!). Ian was a goblin of his own creation for Halloween and it was a bit spooky. We went trick or treating downtown the weekend before Halloween and then had a big storm where most of the town lost power again and the Welanders came over again for spooky dinner and trick or treating on Halloween night. Emily loves dressing up and loves her tutus and frilly dresses. Ian is awesome - after a week long stay at Westchester Medical Center over Thanksgiving we had our own Thanks-Germain with our neighbors and friends the week after. The kids liked dancing in the empty kitchen because we used the table in the dining room for more seating. My Karate man will test for his next stripe after the New Year. And he loves playing with his sister (though she can be rough with him). Emmie has lots of words (hat, nose, EEE (Ian), woof, mooo, cluck, head, hair, teeth...) We had a very nice Christmas and look forward to next year.

Emily turns one!

Emily Elizabeth turned one this past weekend. She celebrated at Ian's karate and then soccer game. After a nice lunch with Grammy and Grampy and Debbi Emily opened presents and got to sample her cake. On Sunday, her actual birthday, we went apple picking with some people from Stevens work. The day turned out sunny and beautiful. This morning we get to go for her 12 month doctor appointment. I'm sure she will be real excited for those shots!

While the cat is away...

Emily will play. Em has been doing a lot of playing with her brother's toys while he has been at school. What he doesn't know won't hurt him.

Emily learned lots of things while mommy was gone. She also ate all kinds of food. She's almost crawling. But mostly she's pushing herself to sitting. And clapping. Everyone survived the week and I think Steven may actually enjoy going to work tomorrow though he had fun with his two kiddos.

Nine Month Emily

Emily Elizabeth is nine months old today. We tried earlier to do a photo shoot but she moves too much and so everything gets blurry. At her nine month appt she was 15 lbs 5 oz. Still a peanut. She is starting to sleep better during the night (well when she isn't cutting three teeth at once) from about 6:30 or 7 PM until 6 or 7 AM. Every few nights she throws a 2 AM snack in but she's been pretty good. We are also trying more finger foods with her. Her favorite so far are green peas. She's taking more milk from her cup and is more interested in what is on our plates then on her tray. She's a little devil too sometimes. Wanting to get into whatever Ian has and virtually destroying his buildings and cities he's built. She loves swinging in the swing. Sitting in the grass. and she is finding her "voice" meaning lots of squeals and screams. Mostly at Ian.

PreSchool Graduation

  The IMan finished pre school at the beginning of June. Sorry for the delay in posting but we threw a trip to NH in the mix and I've been getting ready for a work business trip. 

Happy Eight Month Old baby

 Em Bem is a happy baby at eight months. She is sitting on her own and starting to army crawl (fast) to what she wants to get. Lucky for us she hasn't realized how to get down from sitting yet and we can leave her and not worry too much that she will get to something she isn't supposed to. Like this morning when she went for my sandals and I found her eating them...

Mother's day

I had a 5K race in the morning which I finished - ran the whole way - no walking. The IMan was cheering loudly for me as I ran past. We then went to breakfast, for a mystery ride which ended with lunch and then a nice dinner cooked on the grill. Ian and I have to plan the herbs he and Emily gave me (with daddy's help) at some point today.

Take off Emily

Emily has found she can slide around on the wood floors. She does do this airplane technique and Ian yells at her to "take off" well after this video was taken yesterday I've realized that if he yells take off she "takes off". Its funny.

Soccer Star

Ian started soccer last Saturday- he was so pleased with himself and has been wearing his "tall socks" and shorts all week. he is excited his friend Matthew is on his team. Griffin is on the green team and all had fun!

Parents day

The IMan had Grandparents day and then Parents Day at school a few weeks ago. He was very happy to have Emily and I come that day.
