What a day
Driving to work this morning I thought I heard something when I went down the street. I didn't really think too much of it and when I was about a block from the office a guy beeped at me and I rolled down my window and he said my rear tire looked flat. I made it to work and sure enough - flat. I don't think I would even be able to inflate it. So - of course called Steven. His suggestion was to go get a can of fix a flat at the gas station down the street. I didn't think that would work so I would call Triple A. He said to have them tow it to get it fixed, I thought wouldn't it be easier to change to the spare... anyway I came in to the office and called Goodyear down the road on Mill Plain and asked if they could take the car if I had it towed there. Then I called Triple A and they came at 10 am and took my car down there. The shop called about 10:30 and the whole tire needs to be replaced. I must have hit a pot hole or something and its going to cost $114... better that than something else. But if its not one thing its another!

Busy Busy
This week was going to be really busy from the get go. With having Monday off and leaving Thursday for my conference. I really don't have enough time to get everything done. Then I had a meeting last night for the volunteer center. I just can't say no! For weeks I've been trying to come up with a way to get off the board, but now I find myself more on it! Oh well... hopefully I can help make things better at least. Its frustrating to feel like I have nothing to add to the conversations. I can't make the financial donation they seem to need, but I'm glad to share skills and talents that I have. Oh well - I have to run - got to get to work... Thursday to Sunday I'm gone for a conference - poor Steven home alone again!

Quite a week
After the ice storm on Valentine's Day our dinner got cancelled. We didn't find out until the last minute. But, luckily, we were able to go to La Zingara's, a place in downtown Bethel at the last minute. I didn't have anything in the house to eat so going out was nice. Steven kept to his $25 limit and I have a nice new toiltery bag to travel with. But he doesn't count the pretty arrangement of tulips that he got me towards his limit...
the rest of the week went pretty well - lots to do at work before a conference next week and I have a house to clean. I have Monday off but Steven doesn't. In fact he's working this morning because that girl they had didn't work out. We are going to go to the Indian Buffet though with our neighbors after he gets home for the lunch buffet.
Oh - we are doing the MS Walk this year again. We both registered on line and are walking to honor our neighbor, Debbi, who has MS. If anyone would want to sponsor us, go to www.msswct.org and click on epledge and put in our last name - St. Germain for those of you who forgot - and make a donation. The walk is April 1st.

Valentine's Day
I have my Valentine's Day presents all ready - Steven probably still needs to finish he presents! The stinker has today off - but because he had to work on Saturday morning. So it really isn't a day off. But because its in the middle of the week it feels more like it. We had his brother Michael visit for a couple nights this week because he was up this way for work. He'd never seen our house so it was nice for him to get to see it and Steven could talk about potential ideas to remodel. Sounds like a trend - whenever the St. Germain men get together they talk about how to remodel our house... Anway - with this big snowstorm heading our way tonight I don't know if we'll be able to have our Valentine's Day. Steven's boss gave him tickets to this fancy dinner in Ridgefield and its tomorrow night. We'll see if we get to go!

TGIF!
I am so glad its Friday. I think that tonight I'm going to MA for the night - just a quick trip to meet Katina's new baby and see my parents. But, I'll be back Sat because Steven's brother is coming Sunday and I have to do some picking up around here. Steven is in charge of the basement so I will make sure the rest of the house is in order! We all know how long it takes him to get going on cleaning the basement - so be glad I'm in charge of the rest of the house. I've not been sleeping really good this week. Too much on my mind about work I guess. Same old same old - but doesn't mean it doesn't bug me still. Its still cold as heck here - I haven't felt like I can get warm all week long. And in the middle of the night I find myself waking up and going over to the thermostat and turning up the heat so by the morning its really hot in the bedroom. Really hot for us is about 68 degrees! Typically its 62... yes we keep the upstairs chilly. Steven's learned to put on layers.

New Blogger
OK - so I had to switch over my blogger account - so confusing. A little annoying too if you ask me. I don't have a Google account, how am I supposed to know what I'm doing... hopefully it worked. On top of that annoyance - I've had a crappy day at work so far. Same old same old. Can't really get into it - but geez - wish it would go away!

Super Sunday

We did end up hiking yesterday - did a trail we've done in the summer so I knew what to expect. I know there was a hill - but its even tougher in the snow - oh well! Made it to the top and then back. About two and a half hours round trip - maybe a little under four miles - not that bad. Decided to nix the chili for tonight - we have too much other food between the two houses here. Oh - and at the supermarket this morning there were reports that Johnny Depp had been in there shopping. That is cool... but I thought he lived in France. The girl at the register said he lives in Redding or Newtown. But Steven has seen Michael Ian Black from the TV show Ed at the Redding dump and at the market here in Bethel ... The girl at the register has also seen him... but not today.

Snowy Saturday
We woke up to about an inch of snow - but its so cold out that its sticking on all the trees. With the sun and the blue skies its beautiful out. We've already gone to the tennis club to return the snowplow and had breakfast. Then it was on to the dump and Steven went to get his hair cut before we head out for our weekly hike. We think we'll go up towards Kent for a hike with a view and see if the snow has stayed and we can get a couple of good pictures. Its only about 22 degrees - but that is better than last week. For the Superbowl tomorrow Steven is making his chili and we are going over to Peter and Debbi's house since they have the bigger tv. That is about it from here - if we get some pictures today maybe I'll post them. Oh- and last night we went to the movies - saw Stomp the Yard - I actually thought it was pretty good. Not the typical fraternity movie - actually showed a lot of the reasons I still like to work in greek life like I do. Not that I dance much - but the whole part about the lead character becoming a better person because of joining the fraternity. Sort of cool to have it displayed that way. Steven thought it was good too. Now he wants to learn stepping and dance like they did... don't see that happening!

Weather
So the weather men up here said we were going to get snow last night - well we woke up this morning and guess what - no snow. But - as I was getting ready for work this morning I saw on the news that there were tornadoes in Central Florida - when they said Lady Lake I was worried and called Steven to call his parents. Well - the mobile home park in Lady Lake that was hit turned out to be where his aunt and uncle live. I guess there may be some damage to their carport - but they were lucky. The pictures are not good and its definitely worse than expecting an inch of snow... I'll take the snow any day!
