I'm Two!

Well - Ian's two. It feels like we have been celebrating all month. The little guy finally received his big present - a red wagon. Here he is enjoying it during a downpour on the back porch. Then we did a little cake with the neighbors. He really likes cake! I can't believe that it was two years ago today that I got to hold him for the first time. I was much better at keeping his journal those days. In fact I wrote in it every day he was in the NICU. The NICU reunion is in September. We can't wait to go back to see everyone.

2nd Birthday Party

Ian had his friend party yesterday and it was a resounding success. It was Bob the Builder all around and I think fun was had by all. We had two families who we have kept in touch with from the NICU come with their kids. Their little boys were Ian's first "roomates" Ryan and Jacob. And we had our new friend Gabrielle and his parents come. Here are a few shots from the day. Debi and her kids came over and Liana and Jacob were great helps in keeping the order with six little kids and clean up duty. Today is Liana's graduation party this afternoon and we have to go get new shoes for my growing (thank goodness) little boy.

Long overdue posting

I am long overdue for a post. We were in NH for about a week and a half, came home, I left again Tuesday and Wed (which turned into Thursday) and work is crazy. Ian LOVED his time at the lake. He liked the farm museum we took him too, although he wouldn't touch a cow. He'd touch horses, goats, chickens but no cows. He's a big talker now - mini sentences are coming fast and furious. This morning I caught him in some imgainary play as well. He was "fishing" with his toy fishing stuff. He'd go from one side of his bedroom to the other getting "worms" to fish. At first I didn't understand what he was doing but then I caught on. Obviously he loved fishing with hisDaddy while on vacation. Tomorrow is his friend birthday party - He's going to have a Bob the Builder party. The house is still a wreck - mid project all over the place here. Oh well - if we waited for it to be perfect it would never be and we'd not do anything.
