In honor of Mother's Day (on top of the photos) Daddy made breakfast with Ian. Well ok - Mommy started breakfast yesterday and Daddy finished it while Ian worked hard on his play mat. We found another keeper for a breakfast recipe when we have our bed and breakfast. Blueberry Pecan French Toast. Let's just say the bread soaks overnight in an egg, milk, nutmeg and brown suger mixture. Yum! Ian then napped - notice a trend people? This kid likes to sleep. When he woke we had lunch and then he took Mommy for an ice cream on Grammy's orders. We went to the cow place but there were no cows out. Ian tried some soft serve off Mommy's finger (I had to get around the chocolate jimmies) and we think he liked it - but it was too cold so he wasn't sure. After falling asleep on the way home (third nap of the day) Daddy had one last surprise for Mommy. Our neighbor Debi came walking in the back door and told me to change for dinner. Apparently Daddy set this whole thing up and we were going out to a nice dinner and Debi and Peter were watching Ian. Of course dinner was at 4 PM so we could be home for bedtime but it was still very nice. Ian was very good for Peter and Debi and was glad to see us when we got home.
